peloponnesian war

the peloponnesian war led on for a great 27yrs. there was one person who had lived the war and wrote a story about it, his name was thucydides. he was a great wealthy general. he was one of the most wealthiest in athens. and his book was a primary source, meaning he was there so it most likely to be the best source of this battle. the book was all about the war and it was like this: the war was athens vs Sparta in the years of 431-404 B.C.E. it had stretched for decades. although there was a 30 peace treaty. also at 465 B.C.E. there was a breakout called the helot revolt. locations were at places called: asia minor, battle at sicily with athens, and megara and Corinth. the reason for witch the sparta athens battle occurred is because athens was getting bigger, stranger, and wealthier than ever. that made sparta nervous of being taken over by the athens so they fought with all they could. in the end athens lost and sparta had won the 27 year long battle.
